Kaushaliya Vaghela was the former Member of the Legislative Council for the Western Metropolitan Region in Victoria. She was part of the 59th Victorian Parliament. Kaushaliya was the first Indian-born Member of Parliament to be elected to the Victorian Parliament. Kaushaliya was also the first Indian-born Hindu to enter any Parliament in Australia.
Kaushaliya has had the privilege of working with many outstanding people and organisations throughout her career. Before being elected as a Member of Parliament, Kaushaliya was a Risk and Compliance Manager and prior to that as a scientist she has worked in the research and diagnostic laboratory. Kaushaliya is a firm believer in family values and stands for the development of infrastructure for the people of the West. She believes that quality education and healthcare is the key to bringing more prosperity to the Western Metropolitan Region.
