Ganesh Chaturthi | Members Statements

Ms VAGHELA (Western Metropolitan):

On 10 September, Hindus across the world observed the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi. This festival marks the birth of the beloved Hindu deity Lord Ganesha, one of the most worshipped Hindu deities. The widely revered god is believed to bring good luck, success, wisdom, and intellect, and to remove obstacles.

Worshippers install beautiful idols of Lord Ganesha in their homes or in their localities. They celebrate by praying, singing religious songs, dancing to drum and eating festive foods. Ganpati Visarjan follows, wherein the statue is immersed in water, and recently people have started doing this in an environmentally friendly way.

I wish a very happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all celebrating this occasion in the Western Metropolitan Region and Victoria.

Ganpati Bappa Morya!
