Ms VAGHELA: Recently I participated in a virtual workshop hosted by an organisation called Women’s Business. Established by Indigenous woman Kat Henaway and Indian-Australian woman Kriti Colless, Women’s Business is a collaboration of women aligning their passion to amplify and empower women of colour in Australia. They collaborate with Australian organisations and provide strategies to develop programs that respectfully and authentically engage with women of colour. Their key relationships are with organisations named Women & Leadership Australia and Women for Election Australia. This workshop, ‘On being a woman, an MP and Indigenous or culturally and linguistically diverse’, was part of their ‘Politics in colour: candid conversations’ series. All four panellists were members of Parliament, who shared their amazing journey of life in this country as well as in the Australian political arena.
